Assoc Prof Sloane Madden

Associate Professor Sloane Madden (MBBS, FRANZCP, CAPCERT, PhD) is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist recognised for his expertise in the management of eating, mood, and anxiety disorders. With more than 20 years of experience in the field of eating disorders, he was the Eating Disorder Service Coordinator for the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network and has been the Director of The Eating Disorder Service at the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network (Westmead Campus) NSW since 2000. Associate Professor Madden has been the director of the Eating Disorder Service at Northside Clinic (St Leonards) since 2017.


Associate Professor Madden is a past President of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Eating Disorder, which awarded him a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2020. Associate Professor Madden has published over 100 peer reviewed scientific articles and abstracts. Associate Professor Madden’s research has three major foci, including the treatment of anorexia nervosa, early onset eating disorders, and the neurobiology of eating disorders.
